Do You Know Whom You Follow?

“…we want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized. We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised…”© Rom 6:11-12, NIV italics and emphasis mine

A story is told of a tourist in New York was struggling to cross roads, highways and tramways when he decided to follow a man in front of him whom he thought looked like a New Yorker, after nearly getting killed twice following the person, he caught up with him and asked, “is this how you cross roads in NY?” to which the guy replied, “why are you stalking me, I am just a tourist from Europe”.

Every one of us, whether consciously or sub-consciously follows (imitate, copy, trust, listen to) someone in different aspects of our pilgrimage in life. So it makes sense to make sure that whoever you are following as you build your career, spiritual life, marriage, business, relationships is ONE: they are whom you assume they are, TWO: they will take you where you want—desire—to go, ultimately.
