“…After he (the prodigal
son) had gone through all his money (whilst abroad), there was a bad famine all
through that country and he began to hurt…He
was so hungry he would have eaten
the corncobs in the pig slop...THAT
brought him to his senses…He said,…I’m
going back to my father…When he was still a long way off, his father saw
him…he ran out, embraced him, and kissed him…calling his servants said...We’re
going to feast…” © Luke 15:11-24

Many
are times we wait on God to change our circumstances while God, like the
prodigal son’s father, is waiting on us to sober
up and act wisely on what is in already in our power. We become drunk when we focus on our problem(s) instead of God; other folks are
drunk with pride, arrogance, self-sufficiency, indifference, anger, fear etc
The
prodigal son remained lost in his poor
state and inner turmoil until
he had an epiphany (came to himself—a realization, sobering experience) triggered by his state, HE HAD
THE POWER TO CHANGE his state. You too have the power (ability & know-how) to change your state but your drunkeness is
in the way—If I were you, I will work on sobering up!
