Stand-Out to Stand-up!

"…Then you will not become spiritually dull and indifferent. Instead, you will follow the example of those who are going to inherit God's promises because of THEIR faith and endurance…" Hebrews 6:12 NLT italics and emphasis mine

"why can't you be like your sister|brother…" and the story lives on, we learn from early on to copy, mimic and be like the successful ones. Thus, we copy exam – answers from those who are usually performing better than us. When we come out of school | college and life hit us on the face, we do exactly the same…COPY from successful others!

By all means learn from the successful people – the principles behind what they do, the rationale and understanding of their actions but good gracious don't be a copycat. You may be going through the same exams, but life gives us different questions. No wonder you fail while you copied from someone who has passed…be you, be original!

Have we Missed God?

"…But the Pharisees and the Teachers of the law who belonged to their sect complained to his disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” Jesus answered them, It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick…" Luke 5:30-31 NIV italics and emphasis mine

The religious people during Jesus' time missed God appointment because they were hung-up with what God had said and missed what God was saying. They were busy with what they had constructed from what God had said and would not even think that God would speak outside their contraption.

I look at the organized religion today including the so-called born-again-ism and I cannot help but wonder 'have we missed God?' We sing and say Jesus is "the answer" for the world today, but our own world is full of questions he has not answered or we have not let him answer?
