A drunken individual, in a TV commercial, jumped from a high rising building thinking he could fly like superman J; needless to say he crushed. When we are drunk, we loose the sense of reality; our sense of judgment becomes critically impaired. Paul tells us that we should be sober in mind and be ready for action.
Some of the things we can be drunk from are such as alcohol, drugs, anger, frustrations, fear, anxiousness, desperation, jealous and the like…e.g. a desperate elderly spinster marries a non-believer, decisions made in fear drives us deeper into trouble etc. It is wise to sober up first before we make that critical decision in life.
