“…men brought on a bed a man who was paralyzed, whom they sought to bring in and lay before Him…because of the crowd, they went up on the housetop and let him down with his bed through the tiling into the midst before Jesus. When He saw their faith, He said to him, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.”…” Luke 5:18-20 NKJV, italics and emphasis mine
We read of instances in the Gospels where Jesus called out and said, “your faith” has healed you. He did not say, “my faith as son of God” or “by the power invested in me”…He said your faith. But when He called out Lazarus from the dead (John 11) or when He cursed that fig tree (Mark 11), it had to be His (Jesus) faith at work.
The above scripture is draws similarity to when Jesus spoke of the solder whose great faith for his servants healing touched Jesus (Matt 8). Similarly the Canaanite woman successfully contended with Jesus for her daughter healing (Matt 15) Jesus saw the faith of the sick man’s friends and was ‘amazed and impressed’…it pays to have faith-FULL friends, they may rescue you when your faith fails you!
