Church, not Cathedral!

And His gifts were [varied; He Himself appointed and gave men to us] some to be apostles (special messengers), some prophets (inspired preachers and expounders), some evangelists (preachers of the Gospel, traveling missionaries), some pastors (shepherds of His flock) and teachers.  His intention was the perfecting and the full equipping of the saints (His consecrated people), [that they should do] the work of ministering toward building up Christ’s body (the church)” © Eph 4:11-12, AMP italics and emphasis mine

Our churches today have become modern Towers of Babel—places where ‘believers’ comfortably congregate; we build monuments we call church buildings and ‘pastors’ compete on who has the most modern, expensive and comfortable building for HIS members. While I am not against modern/comfortable buildings for a place of worship—I believe this should not be our priority.

The great commission is about making disciples (not converts), it is about what Paul says above—equipping believers to grow into faith to become ministers, not cuddle and preach them year after year in our cocoon. The Church is meant to be a place of internship and apprenticeship where new believers are trained into becoming ministers—but today, we have superstars and spectators in church—what a shame!
