The secret of Great Achievers-Part 2/3

“…Pilate said to Him, Then You are a King? Jesus answered, You say it! [You speak correctly!] For I am a King. [Certainly I am a King!] This is why I was born, and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the Truth. Everyone who is of the Truth [who is a friend of the Truth, who belongs to the Truth] hears and listens to My voice” © John 18:37, AMP italics and emphasis mine.

The world has a way of making room (opportunity, space) for an individual whose words and actions shows that he knows where he is going and how to get there (Napoleon Hill). Many of us, our words and actions, clearly demonstrate that we have no clue as to our destination, let alone how to get there. As a result, we are easily moved by every wind of doctrine and opinion of people.

Great achievers know the 3M’s of their assignment in life; what their gift is and to whom and where they are assigned. They refuse to be cheap copy of great original. Under achievers will seek to be like someone else (Dance like Michael, Preach like Graham, Sing like Crouch). Learn the principles and methods they used to become great then adopt and adapt them to suit the unique you that God created.

The Secret of Great Achievers-Part 1

“…I do not consider, brethren, that I have captured and made it my own [yet]; but one thing I do [it is my one aspiration]: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward…” © Phil 3:13,14, AMP italics and emphasis mine

In most cases you will find that when one is worried, anxious, on the verge of nervous breakdown and depression it is all based on the past. What happened, could have happen, did not happen have crippled so many otherwise brilliant people into obscurity…they think of their future (and of their significant others) based on the past.

You cannot change the past, but you can ruin the present by worrying about the future. Paul gives us the key to winning the prize…forget what lies behind (by all means learn from it) but don’t let it dictate what you believe (and see) of your future. I believe in stepping stones, I believe in trials to shape my character, I believe I am destined for greatness.

Religion, the Opium of the People

“…those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world” © James 1:26,27 NIV italics and emphasis mine

If you want to see how drunk your church folks are, get a prostitute to visit your local church this Sunday morning in her ‘uniform’ and see what happens. Karl Max rightly said that religion is opium of the people; once we get drunk with this deadly drug, we forget what the Gospel is all about—justice, mercy and faithfulness.

The more I learn about the Gospel, the more I realise how little I know; for instance, Jesus touched people of their ‘distress’ prior to dealing with their sins, but today the church starts with sin!!! I have come to realization that people don’t care about how much I know until they know how much I care
