Build Castles in the Air

"…now FAITH is susbstance of things HOPED for, the evidence of things NOT SEEN…” © Hebr 11:1 KJV italics, emphasis and words in bracket mine

Everything starts as an idea, this universe was first an idea in God’s spirit. The difference between a success story and a failure is in the "ability" to transfer the "not seen" into physical, ideas into reality. Most of us have our breakthroughs already in the 'not seen' world—mind—when we prayed, but we let our past experiences (mistakes/failures) stop us from transmuting them into reality...FEAR is your No.1 enemy

Start NOW to build your castles in the air, pave your streets with gold THEN learn how to transmute them into reality. Faith is the agent you need to translate the ’not seen’ into the ’seen’, HOW? write your prayers (what you believe God for) on a PAPER—after prayer & meditation—write ideas that drops into your mind; ask yourself practical questions on way forward and write down answers then work them heartily.

Do you give Alms?

“…So then, as occasion and opportunity open up to us, let us do good [morally] to all people [not only being useful or profitable to them, but also doing what is for their spiritual good and advantage]. Be mindful to be a blessing, especially to those of the household of faith [those who belong to God’s family with you, the believers]…” © Gal 6:10 AMP italics, emphasis and words in bracket mine

In most mosques, on Friday afternoons, you will find beggers flocking outside waiting for the `saints` to give them alms as they come from worship. For muslims, giving alms to the poor is part of their worship. Remember Apostle Peter, silver and gold have I none”? (Acts 3:1-8) it was customary in the OT/ NT days for poor people to wait outside synagogue for help...why don’t we see them these days outside our churches???

The early church knew that the Gospel has to cater for the body, soul and spirit; missionaries from Europe built churches, schools, orphanages and hospitals. It may be difficult to get a pagan/muslim to church but they will bring their child to school/hospital; in Tanzania we have loads of muslim in high places who went to Christian schools... let us go back to the Full Gospel, catering for BODY, SOUL and SPIRIT.

Prostitute in Church!

“…The religion scholars and Pharisees saw him keeping this kind of company and lit into his disciples: “What kind of example is this, acting cozy with the riffraff?” Jesus, overhearing, shot back, “Who needs a doctor: the healthy or the sick? I’m here inviting the sin-sick, not the spiritually-fit”…” © Mark 2:15-17 MSG italics, emphasis and words in bracket mine

A prostitute walks into a church on Sun morning; life has taken its toll on her, she’s lost all hope, sees no future. She has come for the last prayer before she commits sucide. As she walks in, ushers looks at each other in disgust how dare she walks into God’s house dressed like that” She sits right infront as she wonders how to pray. The pastor calls the head usher to remove her immediately, this must be a delila” he thinks.

We come to church to worship God and to hear from Him; but also to be equipped for the work of the ministry (Eph 4:11-15). The church have lost it these end days; we build expensive structures and make ourselves comfy and would not allow outsiders’’ to disturb our comfort zones. Wake up church, we are not here for ourselves...it is a sick world out there needing our help...

Sobering Experiences

“…After he (the prodigal son) had gone through all his money (whilst abroad), there was a bad famine all through that country and he began to hurt…He was so hungry he would have eaten the corncobs in the pig slop...THAT brought him to his senses…He said,…I’m going back to my father…When he was still a long way off, his father saw him…he ran out, embraced him, and kissed him…calling his servants said...We’re going to feast…” © Luke 15:11-24 MSG italics, emphasis and words in bracket mine

Many are times we wait on God to change our circumstances while God, like the prodigal son’s father, is waiting on us to sober up and act wisely on what is in already in our power. We become drunk when we focus on our problem(s) instead of God; other folks are drunk with pride, arrogance, self-sufficiency, indifference, anger, fear etc

The prodigal son remained  lost in his poor state and inner turmoil until he had an epiphany (came to himself—a realization, sobering experience) triggered by his state, HE HAD THE POWER TO CHANGE his state. You too have the power (ability & know-how) to change your state but your drunkeness is in the way—If I were you, I will work on sobering up!

Delilah was a Hero

And when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, Come up this once, for he hath shewed me all his heart. Then the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and brought money in their hand. And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him.” ©Judges 16:18-19, italics and emphasis mine

Many teachings/preachings potray Delilah as the culprit for Samson’s failure; they forget that Samson was anointed to kill her people. Think about it, Delilah was a hero to her people, she conquered what an army of men could not. Samson on the other hand let himself down by disobeying God and his parent’s instructions in many ways and places.

Many are people who would rather blame circumstances and others for their failure all the while it is their doing that betrays them in the first place. We are all going to fail at something at some point. A successful person is the one who learns to survive failure by taking ownership of the mistakes and learn from them instead of assigning blame to others.

Your Call is Calling

It was soon evident that God had entrusted me with the same message to the non-Jews as Peter had been preaching to the Jews. Recognizing that my calling had been given by God, James, Peter, and John—the pillars of the church—shook hands with me and Barnabas, assigning us to a ministry to the non-Jews, while they continued to be responsible for reaching out to the Jews” ©Prov, italics and emphasis mine

As much as we would love to be there and help everyone, we are not called to serve everyone. Every human being on earth has a distinctively unique Gift, Call and Assignment (ministry to specific people and place) eg one may be called to orphaned children in refugee camp or widowers in Africa.

How successful you become depends on your ability to discover and exploit your gift, respond to your call and pursue your assignment relentlessly obsessively as if your breathing depends on it. Creativity, innovation, excellence and potential realisation will be evident to all if you flow in your gift, call and assignment and not otherwise

Relationship with Money!

There are those who [generously] scatter abroad, and yet increase more; there are those who withhold more than is fitting or what is justly due, but it results only in want. The liberal person shall be enriched, and he who waters shall himself be watered” ©Prov 11:24-25 AMP, italics and emphasis mine

A fool and his money are soon parted, goes an english proverb; and it is said that the closest thing to a man is his wallet (J not wife, children or God?) There is a real and unique relationship between you and the money in your care (disposal). This unique relationship is governed by certain principles—one of them is detailed in the above scripture.

A healthy relationship between one and money is that of a servant and master; when money is your servant, you send it to various places to do good and it come back to you in hundred folds. When either you withhold your servants from working or allow them to be your master...they free themselves and flee from you.

NOTE: what you give may leave your hand but does not leave your life but what you spend, is spent.

Let there be light...!

He sends forth His word and heals them and rescues them from the pit and destruction” (c) Psalms 107:20 AMP, italics and emphasis mine

I have witnessed a generation of alcoholics—a poor father struggling with alcohol the same way his dad did and watches in horror as his son begins to drink heavily. We know families of drug addicts, womanizers—all descending down from Great—Grandparents to Parents into Grand—Children. If you are honest with yourself, you will see the traits of weakness and wickedness in you that you hated from your parents.

I am not talking of generational curse but generational iniquity (propensity to sin in a certain manner—either by psychology or familiar spirit), psychology of human behaviour (learned behavior from those close to you) and generational consequences from poor choices of others before you. The answer lies in ‘the word’, God’s word (Rhema) is the light…when we appropriate the truth darkness has to go!

Touched by an angel

Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem! Believe in the Lord your God and you shall be established; believe and remain steadfast to His prophets and you shall prosper © 2 Cronicles 20:20 AMP italics and emphasis mine

Have you noticed that some ministers of the gospel you ‘get’ them for a while then you don’t? I am persuaded that in every season God sends us an ‘angel’ to walk us through and usher us into the next Season. Our ability to recognize, pursue and follow instructions (wisdom) from this angel will determine how long and pain-less (full) the season will be.

Your angel is not necessarily your pastor, life partner or friend; it is someone you suddenly ‘click’ in the spirit. I have learnt to be sensitive to my angels for they come in all shape, colour and size. Who is your angel? do you ignore their wisdom? Whose voice do you honour? whose instructions do you follow? Who have you allowed to shape your belief and influence your decisions?

Give and it shall be given 2U!

So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work © 2 Corinthians 9:7-8 AMP italics and emphasis mine

Why is it so easy to believe John 3:16, but we struggle with Luke 6:38 and Proverbs 19:17. Isn’t the spirit behind the ‘word’ the same? May I submit to you that the reason is we are prejudiced with our tradition and core beliefs based on past experiences. But if John 3:16 is true, then Luke 6:38 should also be true otherwise John 3:16 and Romans 10:9,10 are not to be believed.

God is calling us to live a life of giving, giving with ‘expectations’ to receive. There is a place to give—out of love, in response to the needs, AND there is a place to give strategically in order to receive. Elijah told the widow, IF you GIVE me FIRST, ‘your supply’ will not end…you can give your way out of poverty if you work with the Holy Ghost.
