Your Destiny is in Your Hand!

“…The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering, but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast. Then the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted?” © Genesis 4:4-7, AMP italics and emphasis mine

Two long standing female friends had their relationship soured when one got engaged…the other was bitter as she felt she deserved to be the one engaged after all she got saved first and she prays and fast more than her friend. She is not alone folks, it takes real maturity to be honestly happy for someone else’s success when you are trailing behind!!!

God tells Cain that He did not favour Abel but what he did; in essence, God was telling Cain that your destiny is in your hand—i.e. in what you do. Do right it will be well with you else you have no one to blame but yourself. Every day you wake up alive and well it is God’s way of saying…Go for it, do what is right and head for your destiny, one right choice to another!

Stubborn Problems Requires Stubborn Faith

“…a woman of Canaan came out of the same region and cried unto Him, saying, "Have mercy on me, O Lord, Thou Son of David! My daughter is grievously vexed with a devil." But He answered her not a word…But He answered and said, "I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel." Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, "Lord help me." But He answered and said, "It is not meet to take children's bread and cast it to dogs." And she said, "Truth, Lord; yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table." Then Jesus answered and said unto her, "O woman, great is thy faith. Be it unto thee even as thou wilt." And her daughter was made whole from that very hour…” © Job 15:22-28, KJ21 italics and emphasis mine

A man went to his friend to ask for bread ‘in the middle of the night’ as he had unexpected guests (sounds like pastors’ house), this other man in bed refused to wake up as he was comfy in the duvet. His friend outside nevertheless ‘refused’ to leave until indeed he had what he came for, said Jesus Christ (Luke 11:5-8)...NIV says he had ‘shameless audacity’ for he refused to take No for an answer.

Many of us are passive, gullible Christians who take NO from anyone and everyone feeling sorry for ourselves, weak and pitiful. If you have stubborn and persistent problem, you need to resort to stubborn and persistent faith like this gentile woman—she would not take no, not even from God…c’mon beloved, be stubborn in your faith for what you desire from the Lord and see if God will not change His mind for you.

It's Not Always About You!

“…When you knock on a door, be courteous in your greeting. If they welcome you, be gentle in your conversation. If they don't welcome you, quietly withdraw. Don't make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way. You can be sure that on Judgment Day they'll be mighty sorry—but it's no concern of yours now…” © Matt 10:12-14, MSG, italics and emphasis mine

I used to cry, seek God, fast and feel so bad and sorry for myself when some people reject my ministry. I would wonder if I missed God, or may be am not good enough or perhaps my delivery (approach) was amiss. Little did I know that I am not sent to everyone and or every hurting person and when rejected, it is not necessarily about me.

We oft like to rescue everyone, even those who have rejected our (God’s) help. Unless specifically led of the Holy Spirit to relentlessly pursue someone, remember you will find favour (acceptance, approval) to those whom you are assigned. Stop beating, feeling sorry for yourself, waste no time arise go where you are celebrated not where you are tolerated!

The Secret of Great Achievers-Part 3/3 (Build Castles in the Air)

“…What I feared has come upon me; what I dreaded has happened to me” © Job 3:25, NIV italics and emphasis mine

It is said (author unknown) that a neurotic person builds castle in the air, psychotic moves into it and psychiatric collects rent. But before you dismiss this idiom as old adage, read carefully what Job said after his calamity…what he dreaded (worried, feared, anxious, terrified about) came to him. There is a strong connection between what occupies your mind (obsession, passionate dreams) and your destiny!

Both faith and fear are attractive in nature of things we hope or dread for respectively. Great achievers know this secret; our conscious and most importantly sub-conscious mind always makes decisions for us towards the picture we predominantly hold in our mind. So why don’t we use this to our advantage? Build castle in the air, then watch as you begin to build foundations on the ground…as man thinks in his heart, so is he (Prov 23:7a).
