Stuck in Wilderness?

“…For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future…” (c) Jeremiah 29:11 NIV [italics & emphasis mine]

God’s plan for humanity after the fall can be summed up to four fold; save us FROM sin TO righteousness, adopt us to be His sons/daughters hence joint heirs with Jesus Christ, afford us the privilege to serve Him on earth and last but definitely not least, take us to the new heavens and earth.

Like the exodus of children of Israel, our salvation—God’s plan—is a journey that we take with Christ. Like the Israelites, most of us are stuck in the wilderness. Saved from sin (Egypt), adopted as children of God but struggle to accept the adoption. We live in the wilderness like the Israelites because of fear and unbelief, somehow we believed that God loved us enough to save us from sin into righteousness but not quite enough to give us the privilege of Canaan land—honey and milk—so like Israel we shy away from fighting the giants that hold our stuff—healing, peace, joy and yes—wealth.
