Stubborn Faith

“…Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. But he answered and said, it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs. And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour...” Matt 15:25-28 KJV (italics and emphasis mine)

A friend told me that he loved (needed) the message that certain minister preaches, but he detests the way he presents it; this unfortunately has put him off from following the message. I thought for a while then told him, you don’t really want that message “bad enough”, I told him to think of what we go through to get Fuel, Diamond or Gold from deep of the earth to surface. Think of the times that you tried to go on diet, do exercise, pray and read the word consistently and constantly, but could not…why?

This gentile (Canaanite) woman, the scripture above, asked for what was “not legally hers” for Jesus was sent, initially, to Israelites. But she wouldn’t let go even after rude NOs, she was relentless. She knew WHAT she wanted and WHERE to get it and Jesus commended her “great faith”. One of the reason we have fickle faith is, we go to God as “one of the option”; but when God is all you have left, why let anyone or anything get in your way? Why allow religion, tradition, people’s opinions, fear, un-belief, insult, ego, pride, bad habit e.t.c. get in your way?
