One Language

“…And the LORD said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them...” Gen 10:6 NKJV (italics and emphasis mine)

I am amazed at what God has to say about these heathen Babylonians, because they were ONE and HAD A PURPOSE which THEY PERSUED in UNITY and ONENESS, God says NOTHING will be withheld from them. We see this pattern with the early church, Acts 2:1, “…When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord (harmony, agreement, settlement) in one place (position, situation, understanding, and stance)…”

I believe the church today has very little if any, influence in the world because we don’t speak ONE LANGUAGE. Every denomination speaks her own language and sometimes even when we are the same denomination, we have our own language between churches…my prayer is that we may learn to speak that one language as a body of Christ as Eph 4:5 says, “…one Lord, one faith, one baptism…” NIV, One language, i.e. the full gospel!
