Spiritual Street Kids

“…Oh Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem! Believe in the Lord your God and you shall be established; believe and remain steadfast to His prophets and you shall prosper…” 2 Chr 20:20b AMP (italics and emphasis mine)

I know of a friend who believed that belonging to a church and or being under any form of spiritual leadership was equal to being under a yoke. He submitted to no one and was accountable to no one except the Lord. He would say, if the Lord sets you free, then you are free indeed, right? He was a kid in the mean streets of a city…no guardians, parents or mentors!

The scripture above says that if you believe in God, you will be established (be found, immovable, firm, steady, prominent) but when you believe and remain steadfast (committed, dedicated) to His prophets you shall prosper (flourish, do well, succeed). Christians were not meant to be loners, we need each other and above all we need the prophets amongst us.
