“Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world” © James 1:27 NKJ italics and emphasis mine
Most believers think that a pure religion is being holy (pious) and unspotted from the world first and foremost; Apostle James begs to differ (scripture above). Jesus said, I was hungry—you didn’t feed me, I was naked—you didn’t cloth me so depart from me you cursed into hell (Mat 25:31-45)
People do not care how much we know until they know how much we care. Jesus taught us to ‘care’ for the hurting, those in pain; addressing their pain as the essence of the Gospel. If you are a ‘Christian’, have religion…let us see how it impacts (practically) those in pain and need around you.
