“…a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to lie down and sleep. So will your poverty come like a robber or one who travels [with slowly but surely approaching steps] and your want like an armed man [making you helpless]…” Proverbs 6:10-11 AMP, italics and emphasis mine
My sister used to sleep walk about the house doing chores like dishes, clothes, rearrange her wardrobe or clean the house—full asleep. What amazed me was the fact that she would be fast asleep with eyes wide open and go about the chores with no glitches. The next day she would wake up with no memory whatsoever of what happened, sometimes she would recall but she would say it was a dream.
When we sleep (be unconscious of what is happening around), we will come to poverty (deprived, scarcity, unfortunate, pitiable). Many of us sleep walk through life—in our finances, marriage, ministry, education etc. We leave everything to chances (you know, God knows)…then we are surprised when poverty hits us!!!! WAKE UP…I love what William Bryan (1860 - 1925) said, “Destiny is not a matter of chance; it is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for; it is a thing to be achieved”
