Devil, Unfair Foe

“…Simon, Simon (Peter), listen! Satan has asked excessively that [all of] you be given up to him [out of the power and keeping of God], that he might sift [all of] you like grain, But I have prayed especially for you [Peter], that your [own] faith may not fail; and when you yourself have turned again, strengthen and establish your brethren…” Luke 22:31, 32 AMP, italics and emphasis mine

In 2008 Israel was charged by most international communities for using disproportionate force against non-state militant terrorists in Gaza. In the UK, the law prohibits using “disproportionate force” against intruders, i.e. you should defend your home with a weapon proportionate to the intruder’s choice of weapon.

When the devil sought to kill baby Jesus, he was not seeing him as a baby but as he shall be. The devil does not fight you for who you are today, but for who are destined to be and he will use every force (proportionate or not) at his disposal to destroy you. The greater your destiny, the greater the attack but greater is he that is in us than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4)
